Pubic Lice / Crabs Cooties
Symptoms
- Insects or eggs in the pubic area
- Pinhead-sized blood spots on underwear
- Intense itching, blue or gray spots
Transmission
- Skin-to-skin contact with infected area
- Contaminated sheets, towels, and clothing
Treatment
- Cured with creams, lotions, or shampoos
- Most can be bought at a drugstore
- Some require a prescription
- Bedding, clothing, and towels should be washed in hot water
- Combs and brushes should be soaked in hot water
