Gonorrhea
Danger
- Untreated gonorrhea can cause infertility (unable to have children) in men and women
- Untreated gonorrhea can be life threatening
- Increases chances of getting HIV
Symptoms
- Burning sensation while urinating
- Yellowish white discharge
- Men: painful or swollen testicles
Transmission
- Sexual contact (vaginal, oral, or anal)
- Can be spread to eyes
- Ejaculation does not have to occur for transmission
- Can spread from mother to child during birth
