Danger
- If untreated, can progress to serious health problems
- Can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
- Can lead to infertility (unable to have children) in men and women
- Increases susceptibility to HIV
Symptoms
- 75% of infected women and 50% of infected men have no symptoms
- Abnormal discharge
- Burning sensation when urinating
Transmission
- Vaginal, oral, or anal sex
- Passed from mother to her newborn during childbirth
